About Us

Dacosa Speedway is a paved, highly banked tri-oval.  It has 16 degrees of banking in the turns and 6 degrees of banking on the backstretch and tri-oval.  The track is 30 feet wide in the straights and 1138 feet long in the center of the track.  In the turns, the track is 40 feet wide.  Measuring at just over 1/5 of a mile, but just short of 1/4 of a mile, Dacosa Speedway offers pavement racing that you cannot find anywhere else, except at NASCAR tracks such as Talladega Superspeedway and Daytona International Speedway.

People have said that if you close your eyes at the start of a race, you practically feel like you are watching a NASCAR race first hand.  You can hear the engines get up to full song, but it takes about a lap to get the karts completely up to speed.

The track plays host to kart racing year round with a number of big events throughout the year.  The track has lights for night-time racing.  We have also installed "soft-walls" in critical areas of the fence to provide safety to all competitors.

No sport survives without putting effort into replacing the veteran talent with the young.  Dacosa Speedway was built by parents for their kids and that is something that has not been forgotten.  That is why we put bonus money on top of the purse of all plate classes.  We also put effort into seeing that new racers receive as much practice time as they feel they need.  We see to it that all kids have fun while they are here by giving gifts and prizes to some that attend as well as to class winners.  It is our philosophy that a happy child will not burn out doing what they enjoy.  It is our goal that a child not walk away from Dacosa without asking, “When are we coming back here?”.  This is what gives a child the passion to want to continue.  Without the future of motorsports having passion…we are doomed to watch them in ball sports all year!  Our long-term outlook is centered on the development of the youth driver and introducing new people to the sport of karting.
